12th July 2021
School closes on Friday 16th July between 1.30 and 2pm. We open again at 8.45am on Monday 6th September. This information is always on the front page of our website. This is the best site to find our term dates as it has our in-service days listed.
The only change to the timetable next year is that the Foundation class will now be finishing at 3pm instead of 2.45pm.
Coming back in September we have some Forest School trips planned for the new classes. This is a great way to start the year and will help the children work together as a team. Everyone wears their school PE uniform and will need a packed lunch and a drink. Children will need to be dropped off and collected from the venues at 9am and 2.45pm. We are unable to transport any children to and from these venues. Class teachers will provide more information and a timely reminder.
Year 1 Thursday 9th September at Braywick Nature Reserve
Year 2 Wednesday 8th September at Braywick Nature Reserve
Year 3 Tuesday 7th September at Braywick Nature Reserve
Year 4 Monday 6th September at Longridge in Marlow
Braywick costs £9.50 per child and Longridge costs £45 per child. We would request that all parents check their eschools accounts for outstanding payments due and settle these as soon as possible. Y4 pupils, please remember your Longridge payment for this term's trip.
At the start of a new year, most children have a new school uniform which can be purchased from www.schooldaysdirect.co.uk Their email is info@schooldaysdirect.co.uk Water bottles can also be purchased from this site. Children will no longer be able to bring in their own water bottles. Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 can continue to bring in a pencil case. They can bring in pencils, pencil crayons, pritt stick, ruler, rubber etc which needs to be in a clear plastic pencil case that can fit inside the children's drawers.
When we come back to school, please continue to wear PE kits every Fridays.
Braywood Extra (Squirrel Club, Early Birds and Kiss and Drop) all start on the first morning back to school, as does our new 'Grab & Go' provision. Children who are dismissed from 3pm can be collected between 3-3.30pm and children who finish at 3.15 can be collected between 3.15-3.45pm.
If the situation allows, we will be hosting our usual class meetings on the first morning back at school. More details will follow but if you could just put this in your diaries that there may be a 30-minute chat with your class teacher on Monday 6th September at 9am for Foundation, Year 1, 2 and 3 and on Tuesday 7th September at 9am for Year 4.
Congratulations, our Y1 pupils have raised £95 from their little business. Under difficult circumstances our PTA have raised nearly £1,000 which is brilliant. Attached is a leaflet about the Library Reading Challenge over the summer holidays. The Oak Academy will continue to provide educational support over this period if you do want to do some additional lessons.
Previously, we talked about the low birth rate in Windsor, and this has hit many schools again. Class sizes are reduced, and money is tight. To maintain our high staff ratio, we are going to have to be very creative!
With only two days left of this term all the staff at Braywood would like to wish you a lovely summer break.
Kind Regards
Susan Calvert
