Mrs Calvert's Weekly Message

12th October 2020

Dear Parents,

The Caterlink menu is attached to this email and it is on the front page of our website. All children had an input into this menu and there are more warm vegetarian options in place. Our lunchtime uptake has grown from 5% to 80-90% which has dramatically improved our overall ability to provide warm meals on site, so thank you for all this help!

We have asked all our Foundation 'little acorn' parents to collect and drop off all their children at the main entrance. The reason why we have made this change is it will help the slightly more congested area of the Church House and support Mrs Teeder's contact with these new children.

A reminder of the staff conversations with parents of Y2, 3 and 4. Please book your slot as usual through eschools. The dates are as follows:

Year 4         Friday 16th October from 9am to 3pm

Year 3         Friday 23rd October from 8am to 2pm

Year 2         Wednesday 21st October from 9am to 3pm

As mentioned in last week's email, we will be starting to run some 'Wake Up' catch-up groups on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8am to the start of the school day. These sessions will start after half term and your teacher will be informing you if your child is part of these groups this week.

Similarly, our alternative early morning support on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays in these same classroom bubbles will start after half term. Initially parents need to commit to the three days every week and pay upfront via eschools. These children will be doing a work-based activity and food will initially not be provided. The cost will be £5 a session. If you have told the office that you would like this service, then you will be contacted during this week.

A few parents have asked if any of our community can offer childminding facilities especially covering our extended school hours. If you can help, or know of a good childminder in our area, can you please inform the office.

Finally, we are asking for every child to have a pair of wellington boots in school so that they can play on the field. Thank you

Half Term starts from Friday 23rd October and school closes at 2pm.

Kind regards

Susan Calvert
