'For with God nothing shall be impossible' Luke 1:37

Attendance

It is important to be at school and on time.

At Braywood our school day starts at 8.30 for Foundation and KS1 children and 8.45am for KS2 children. It is important to be on time because it sets habits for the future. In the morning the gates officially close at 8.55am.

At the end of the day we finish at 3pm for Foundation and KS1 children and 3.15pm for KS2 children.

For the safety of the children the inside gates are closed between 9am until 2.45pm. Once they are locked, parents should always enter by the front door so that we are aware you are on the premises. All visitors must report to the school office to sign in and receive a visitor's lanyard. All are collected at the end of the day from their classroom and the teacher will only dismiss the children when they see the child's parent/carer. Parents must notify the school as to who is collecting their child at the end of the day if it is not themselves. Class teachers will not allow children to go home with an adult they do not know.

Lateness

It is very important that your child is punctual as the first few minutes of school enable your child to settle in for the day. If you bring your child in late, you will need to come into school via reception and sign them in. If you are going to be late at the end of the school day, please ring the school to let us know. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your child will be placed in our after-school club, 'Squirrel Club'.

If there are any problems, we have a range of extended school support through clubs and Braywood Extra. In addition, to support busy parents at the beginning of the morning, we provide a 'kiss and drop' facility from 8.15am to 8.45am where, for a small charge, parents/carers can drop their child off outside the Church House. A member of staff will safely deliver them to the classroom.

Attendance

It is obviously very important that your child attends school every day. Sometimes though children are ill or need to attend appointments during the school day. Please let us know in advance if your child needs picking up during the day and the reason why. You will need to sign them in and out at reception.

If your child is ill, please let us know as soon as possible by telephone or email; we will let their class teacher know.

Emergency Closure

In exceptional circumstances, situations may arise where it is necessary to close the school. Where possible, parents will be informed the day before through text or email. If the school has to be closed at short notice, a message will be placed on our website, RBWM website, Radio Berkshire and a text will also be sent.
