Mrs Calvert's Weekly Message

Dear Parents

Do check your post this week because there is a special letter from myself for your child/ren.

Everyone is back to school on Monday 8th March. The 'catch up' groups will also start on this date. Press here to see an open letter from Gavin Williamson and attached is a poster supporting parents 'back to support' with a virtual meeting

For any parents who want to see the Government's Roadmap please click here.

To make this return as straight forward as possible we are going to be following the same routines as before lockdown. Your class teacher will remind you of your drop off and collection area and times. Children will still need a snack and water bottle and there will be a choice of warm grab bags or home/school packed lunch. This will be changing to warm meals after Easter.

Schools are safe places for children. However, once schools open there are undeniably more contacts between our community which can spread the virus. The same safety measures of social distancing, increased hygiene, ventilation and hand washing will still be in place. For additional peace of mind, teachers now have the lateral flow tests and carry out these tests twice a week. We continue to ask parents to be additionally vigilant and inform the school immediately if anyone in your family have symptoms. The same self-isolation measures are still to be followed by law.

As the Government still wants schools to be cautious, we will be sending our siblings out all together to reduce the need for parents to wait outside unnecessarily. We are still in Tier 4 and should not be meeting other people outside of our family bubble. Parents should not be catching up with their friends on the roadside increasing the potential to pass on the virus. If you feel that it is necessary to wear a face mask, then that might be a wise decision. Children are not wearing face masks in school.

Revd Ainsley has a story about Lent - keep trying, for everyone to enjoy.

Happy Bags are back on Wednesday 10th March. Please drop your bags just inside the main entrance first thing in the morning.

Remember that we are all going to celebrate getting through lockdown with a class assembly where all parents are invited. Please note that the dates are different from the last week's email and are as follows.....

EYFS - Thursday 4th March at 10.30am

Year 1 - Thursday 4th March at 9.30am

Year 2 - Thursday 4th March at 10.00am

Year 3 - Friday 5th at 9.30am

Year 4 - Friday 5th at 10.00am

Children are going to need their moodboards and two pieces of paper; one with a Christian value written on it and one with a positive word associated with this pandemic. We will be singing either (YF, 1 & 2) 'You have got a Friend in Me' from Toy Story. or (Y3 & 4) Bruno Mars 'Count on Me'. Look forward to seeing you all.

Attached is a survey for all children to compete asking them how they feel coming back to school. Please can children fill it in and bring it with them on the first week of school. Below is a link to a survey for parents and how you feel the school has handled this pandemic. Any comments are relevant whether they are positive or of a more constructive manner.
