Mrs Calvert's Message

Dear Parents,

I hope that you all had a lovely break.

It appears that the Harvest Festival Performance did not get to all parents so here is a link which hopefully should work!

Thank you to all the parents who logged onto eschools and had a chat with their child's teacher. I hope that you found this meeting useful.

Thank you to the parents who helped with our Halloween cake sale. We raised over £200. We would like to order £1,500 worth of reading books for the school, so this will help greatly.

Attached is a letter from the LEA regarding Covid 19 and here is a link to a letter from the DfE. As Covid cases are climbing rapidly, there is more of an emphasis on keeping children in their class bubbles, wearing masks in communal areas and regular testing. All these recommendations are already in place in our school and parents are testing their children regularly is much appreciated. If there is a positive case of Covid in the family we will be following recent advice from the East Berkshire Public Health which states that 'any child or member of staff should take daily lateral flow test for 7 days, in addition to a one-off PCR test'. Mainly because a LFT is not always as reliable as a PCR test. If your child's test result is negative, parents can make a judgement as to whether their child should be in school or remain at home.

We will be marking Armistice Day in school on Thursday 11th November.  Poppies will be on sale from tomorrow after school. On Friday 19th December we will be contributing to Children in Need by dressing up in our strictly gear at the cost of £1. There will be a talent show in the afternoon so get practicing!

Attached is an email regarding the flu vaccination which will take place at school on Friday 10th December.  Parents are required to complete a consent form (attached) 48 hours before the session date if you would like your child to receive their flu vaccination.  If you do not wish for your child to be vaccinated, please still complete a consent form as a non-consent.

Every child will be coming home with a Christmas Card that they have designed themselves. If you would like to have these printed, then there are detailed instructions attached to this card. All entries need to be back at school by Wednesday 10th December.

Emergency Services Cenotaph which is supported by HRH The Duke of Cambridge and the Prime Minister. The aim is to erect a monument to honour all the staff in the NHS and Emergency Services. On Friday 3rd December children are invited to attend school wearing the colours red/orange, blue and green and contribute a £1 which will be forwarded to this charity.

Finally, Revd Ainsley has sent a tour of St Michael's church in Bray through this link. https://photos.app.goo.gl/z1Z2yTyzKeywLVNq9

Kind regards
